The Malcolm Wilson Rally holds a special place in my heart, not only for its 48 year history but also for the community it has cultivated over the years. From the early days of basic web design to the advanced platforms of today, the website has served as a vital connection between rally enthusiasts, competitors, and organisers. It has been a true honour to contribute to the event’s growth and to preserve its legacy in the digital realm.
Over the years, the Malcolm Wilson Rally website has evolved alongside the sport itself. Initially, it was a basic platform sharing essential event details. However, as technology advances, so does the approach, integrating features like real-time results, interactive maps, and more dynamic content such as video. These changes reflect not only technological progress but also the rally’s dedication to enhancing the experience for competitors and fans.
The heart of this journey lies in the collaboration with the people behind the Malcolm Wilson Rally. From the organisers to volunteers and the competitors themselves, every interaction has underscored the passion that fuels this iconic event. I’d like to offer a special mention to Ronnie Sandham who’s organisational and leaderships skills are immense, it simply wouldn’t have ever happened without her, thanks Ronnie, you are a Champion.
Managing the website isn’t just about maintaining a digital presence; it is about being part of a group bound by a shared passion for motorsport. Each season brings new stories, challenges, and triumphs, and being able to capture and share these moments is a privilege.
As I reflect on these 23 years, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to support such a prestigious event. To have played a role in connecting fans, sharing successes, and celebrating the spirit of rallying is something I will always cherish. Looking ahead, I am excited to see how the rally and its digital presence continue to thrive in the years to come.
