Malcolm Wilson Rally 2013

Welcome to the 38th
Malcolm Wilson Rally

Welcome to the 38th Malcolm Wilson Rally. Once again we will provide a forest stage event in the beautiful Lake District, starting from the friendly town of Cockermouth with documentation & scrutineering taking place in the M-Sport complex. It will be organised by the same experienced team who have been involved for many years. The event has easy access via the M6 motorway & good A roads so come on up! The route has been tweaked a little to provide the maximum challenge with single usage of Forestry Commission roads & the longest stages available (over 6 miles average length). Well behaved management cars are welcome and may freely use the areas provided.

We are keeping up with modern trends by making regulations and entries available online with payment on PayPal® if desired so that you can spread the cost on your credit cards, or use two cheques if that makes life easier.

The BTRDA Historic Cup & Motoscope Northern Historic Rally Championship contenders, who are welcomed back for their third year should appreciate our very smooth forest roads.

M-Sport will again provide their superb facilities for scrutineering and overnight secure rally car park, with signing on in the merchandising unit. Competitors and service crews will be welcomed in the Merchandising Suite, where Pearl Wilson will again have her stall to raise money for the In house charity of the year, and  the Chequered Flag Café will be open for catering – at very reasonable prices both on Friday evening and Saturday morning. Security is still a high priority so please restrict your movements to the areas open to the Rally.

The ceremonial start and finish will move away from Main Street Cockermouth for this year. Market Place will be used instead and this area has a market charter which is one of the oldest in Cumbria. Please pay attention to the arrangements for this venue as they are slightly different to those we have used in the past.

Route notes will be available to all competitors; in line with other BTRDA® events these will only be available direct from Brian & Liz Patterson. See separate details within the regulations.

To improve the enjoyment of both driver & co-driver we will provide outline route maps, stage maps & tulips for road & stage sections in the road book posted out in advance – talk about Value for Money!

With a big increase in interest in the smaller classes and the return of Rally First and the Historic Championships we recommend an early entry to avoid disappointment. We look forward to seeing you in March.
